So It is ACL Weekend

And, unfortunately, we don’t have tickets. And they’re all gone. So you might not have tickets either.

So if you don’t–or even if you do and you need a slight change of pace from the festivities–here are some great options for what else you can do around town!

VIGIL!: It’s the last weekend of Vigil at Hyde Park Theatre. It’s been getting rave reviews and is just excellent. If you haven’t seen it yet, your last chance.

Zombie Fest 3!: The month-long celebration of all things zombie will be hosting a screening of “Ninjas vs. Zombies” in the afternoon at the University Hills Branch of the Austin Public Library.

Good for if you love it or hate it, Master Pancake Theater at Alamo Drafthouse @ The Ritz will be screening Twilight on Friday and Saturday, just make sure you get there early.

Friday and Saturday are also the last nights of Austin Details Art + Photo’s “The Neon Show,” which is supposedly just glowing with excitement. See what I did there?

Violinist Judith Ingolfsson will be coming to the Austin Symphony for shows on Friday and Saturday, if you want to sample some music outside of ACL stylings.

And to close out the weekend, grab the kids or just pretend you are one and head to the final night of The Adventures of Iris & Momo, Paper Moon Repertory and Austin Playhouse’s all-ages, family show!

See? Even without that fancy wristband, there are still great things happening this weekend. And the best part is, this doesnt even scratch the surface! Head over to, and see what else is out there.
