Get Your Culture On

Oh Austin, the Land of Many Festivals.

As you should already know, Wurstfest has been going on in New Braunfels for over a week now and will be ending on Sunday. I know, it is just absolutely tragic, so make sure you get down there and check it out.

But for those of you who don’t feel so inclined to traverse all that way South, just a little east of 35–right off Cesar Chavez at Fiesta Gardens–is the Austin Celtic Festival.

The Austin Celtic Festival is the largest gathering of Celts in Central Texas. Four stages of Irish and Scottish music, dance and storytelling. Events also include sheepherding demos, Highland Games, music and dance workshops and more.

So this weekend, whether you’re getting some sausage or herding some sheep, there’s plenty of festival to go around for your heritage and culture celebrating needs.
