Austin Wins the Biennial!

Not that it’s a thing to be won per se, BUT, our fair city has made a pretty good go of taking up more of the exhibition’s spots than any other city.

Out of about 800 submissions and only 50 selected artists, 19 Austinites will be on display for the 2011 Texas Biennial!

The Biennial is an independent survey of Contemporary Texas Art. The artists on exhibition represent both emerging and established talents, including recent works created in a range of artistic media from painting, sculpture, drawing and print, to photography, video, installation and performance.

This will be the fourth edition of the Texas Biennial, which was originated and is run by the non-profit arts organization Big Medium, located in Austin.

And, without further ado, congratulations to you Austin Artists!

Susi Brister, Clarke Curtis, Jonathan Faber, Laurie Frick, Michael Anthony Garcia, Anthony Garza, Nathan Green, Katy Horan, T J Hunt, Jessica Mallios, Brandon Miller, Olivia Moore, Carin Rodenborn, Abby Ronaldes & Alexander Rosental, Sam Sanford, Barry Stone, Brad Tucker, and Jade Walker!
