Homeslice with Eisenberg

Today the Austin Creative Alliance took a field trip. We went to visit our pals at Homeslice Pizza to see our other pal Jesse Eisenburg in promotion for his new movie 30 Minutes or Less.

Eisenburg (of Social Network, Zombieland and Adventureland fame) stars in a movie where two fledgling criminals (Nick Swardson and Danny McBride) kidnap a pizza delivery guy (Eisenburg), strap a bomb to his chest, and inform him that he has mere hours to rob a bank or else… Aziz Ansari plays Eisenburg’s quirky sidekick (the role he was made for). Cinematic gold, right?

And where else would you promote a pizza boy movie in Austin than at Homeslice?

My celebrity conversation went as follows (keep in mind that I might in fact out-awkward Eisenberg):

Jesse: Hey, what’s your name?
Me: …Mitch
Jesse: What is that CLE on your shirt?
Me: It stands for Cleveland…  I…
Jesse: How do you feel about Lebron?
Me: I hate him.
Jesse: Me too.  Do you want this pizza?
Me: Yes…  I do.

and then I walked away giggling…

Promotion of action comedies, local pizza joints, and awkward social interactions aside, isn’t it great to live in a city where celebrities serve YOU pizza?

Very creative, Austin. Very creative.
