Austin Artist Weekly: Agent Ribbons, Part 1

Hey all!
As promised, we are back for another round of local arts and artists in our new feature Austin Artist Weekly. Last week we featured native Austinites and generally awesome band The Pons. This week, ACA is giving a shout out to two cool chicas from the West Coast – Agent Ribbons. These California natives haven’t been in Austin for very long, but the duo brings down the house with their unique, cabaret/garage band sound. Touring with the likes of Girls in a Coma, Camera Obscura and CAKE, these girls are on fire, giving every one a fever that only girl rock can cure.
I had the amazing honor of chatting with Drummer and Vocalist Lauren Hess (Lauren Ribbons if you’re nasty). Thanks to the advanced technology that we have here at the ACA (Google Voice), we are able to bring you this awesome interview. Our lovely conversation will be broadcast in two installements, the first one is below for your enjoyment (and only 8 minutes long):

Make sure to check out Part 2 of my interview with Lauren Ribbons tomorrow to hear more about Agent Ribbons and being banned from the UK. ESCANDALOSO!
It’s a great way to start off your weekend(ish) and gives you something to listen to before you come out to ACA’s public forum: Crisis & Oppurtunity 2.0.
