Keep Austin Artsy Podcast: The Hideout Theatre Gets Scary with Hitchcocked

Keep Austin Artsy Podcast was produced by Beth Cortez-Neavel and Susie Gidseg. Keep Austin Artsy Podcast is a project of the Greater Austin Creative Alliance and NowPlayingAustin.com.

Who knew improvers came to podcast interviews with their own weapons? While at first we were intrigued by Troy and his improv knowledge, interest soon turned to fear when Troy pulled out his arsenal of weapons and threatened murder. In his pockets….a fake knife, wrench he found in our closet and and extra tie for some improvised destruction. While usually we might be taken aback by this kind of situation, it kind of seemed appropriate here. Even Latifah got into the action of our improved terrifying photo shoot ( see above.) If you ever wanted to hear how a group of improvers try really really hard to make theatre as cool as a sports event, understand how an improv show really really gets made from start to finish, wondered what is up with all those crazy kids at the Hideout Theatre, or spent hours thinking about how cinematic elements can be translated to the stage…well, this show is probably right up your alley. Troy promises lots of laugh, intrigue and, of course, murder.
